About Boston Sand And Gravel
Who we are
History
Approaching a century of service since its establishment in 1914, Boston Sand &
Gravel Company is a recognized leader in the New England Ready Mixed Concrete and
Aggregate industry. We take pride in providing quality products and excellent service
to our customers in the most demanding construction projects throughout the region,
including the Central Artery/Tunnel project, waste water treatment plants, nuclear
power plants, high rise-buildings and slurry wall construction.
With a fleet of over 250 concrete mixer trucks, state-of-the-art dispatch and GPS
system, well coordinated shipping and service capability and network of ready mix
plants in eastern Massachusetts, we are able to service jobs of any size, from small
residential pours to mass pours for commercial and infrastructure projects.
Our aggregate facilities in southern New Hampshire produce and distribute sand and
stone products from quarries in Hooksett and Ossipee, NH to regional markets by
truck and from Ossipee to the Boston market by rail.
Our 2001 expansion into wholesale and retail landscape products adds an
array of bark mulch, specialty wood products and hardscapes to our portfolio of
products for contractors and residential customers throughout New England.

to work closely with customers. We can provide assistance in selecting products
to ensure design specifications, estimating optimal product quantities and scheduling
deliveries to meet the customer’s project schedule. Even in the most demanding construction
projects, if “we run into problems,” we’re prepared to meet these challenges with
confidence and possess the technical expertise to assist our clients.
Green Building
Boston Sand & Gravel Company is a member of the US Green Building Council. Our Sales

Operations and Distribution
Boston Sand & Gravel and its subsidiaries have extensive bulk materials production,
logistics and delivery of ready mix concrete, sand, aggregate and landscape products.
Our ready mix concrete operations run year round and our database of over 1000 concrete
mix designs includes specialty mixes for placing “winter concrete”.
In addition to shipping sand and aggregate by truck from our NH aggregate plants,
our short line railroad, New Hampshire Northcoast connects with PanAm and CSX main
rail line allowing efficient and dependable sand and gravel transport from our Ossipee,
NH facility to our metro Boston locations in Charlestown and Everett. Our railroad
also provides freight service to customers, hauling bulk goods such as steel and
liquefied propane tanks. New Hampshire Northcoast rail service also proceeds uninterrupted
through the very challenging winter months.
The Company’s aggregate terminal in Everett allows storage and distribution of bulk
materials close to Boston. A 12 acre site located along the Boston Harbor, the Everett
Terminal is accessible by water, rail and truck. The facility operates an active
marine dock with barge capability and a rail spur with connection to the CSX line.
The terminal is also accessible by truck and close to the main north-south highways,
I-93 and Route 1.
